1. To change an existing code to one listed in
CHANGE
to advance the display to
the ENTER DROP FEATURE CODE menu (

2. Using
the
DIAL PAD KEYS
, enter the Drop Feature data from the table, in a valid range
between 000 and 127, as represented by “nnn” in the display and press
STORE
. If you make a
mistake during the entry process, use
DELETE
to erase the last digit entered. This works like a
“backspace” function.
a. If the entry is valid, less than 128, the display returns to the DROP FEATURE CODE menu
b. If the entered code is greater than 127, an INVALID ENTRY menu will be displayed. Enter
the correct code, less than 128, and press STORE. The display returns to the DROP
FEATURE CODE menu (
3. While in the ENTER DROP FEATURE CODE menu, pressing ABORT, at any time, returns the
display to the DROP FEATURE CODE menu (
.
4. In the DROP FEATURE CODE menu (
), if no change is required, or after a change
is completed, press
SCROLL
to move to the ADVANCED TERMINAL SETTING FOR
INSTALLATION PERSONNEL menu (see Paragraph
5. Press
BACK
in the DROP FEATURE CODE menu, to return the display to the NETWORK

The Advanced Terminal Settings for Installation Personnel menu is shown in

In the ADVANCED TERMINAL SETTINGS FOR INSTALLATION PERSONNEL,
1. Press SELECT to advance to the STU-III ACK/NACK menu (Paragraph
) shared by all
services.
2. Press SCROLL or BACK to return the display to the NETWORK SETTINGS menu (
2-5.9.1 Set STU-III ACK/NACK
It selects a protocol that requires message transfers from the near-end to be re-attempted when no
response is received from the far-end within the expected time. This selection can improve message
transfer and secure call connection reliability on a poor network. However, a very poor network
connection may extend connection times to an unacceptable degree because of repeated unsuccessful
retries. In this case, you may choose to abort the call and try for a new network connection. When the
STU-III ACK/NACK is DISABLED, the lack of a response from the far-end will cause the near-end to fail
the call.
