Where on:
Line 1: “XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX” is NON-SECURE TO:, GOING SECURE TO:, or the security
classification of the call (PROTECTED, UNCLASSIFIED, CONFIDENTIAL, SECRET, TOP SECRET) .
“MMM” is the application type: NSV (Non-Secure Voice), SV (Secure Voice) and SD (Secure
Data). “SSSS” is the application rate in kbps (kilobits per second).
NOTE
SD will appear only if the STE is set for data only.

“XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX” LINE 1: NSV 64
Indicates the incoming call is on line 1 (CALL1) and the STE is strapped “Traditional”.

“XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX” LINE 1: SV 2.4 or SV 4.8
Indicates the incoming call is on line 1 (CALL1) and the STE is strapped “Auto-Secure”.
•
“XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX” LINE 1: SD 128
Indicates the incoming call is on line 1 (CALL1) and the STE is strapped “Auto-Secure”.
You may answer an incoming call by lifting the handset, pressing the
CALL
button of the incoming call, or
pressing
SPKR
. Calls answered by pressing
CALL
or
SPKR
will be routed to the speakerphone. If the
speakerphone function has been disabled, for either the non-secure or the secure mode, or both, the call
will be connected but not audible but you must use the handset. Depending upon the configuration of the
STE, an answered call may be connected in any of the three call modes (non-secure voice, secure voice,
or secure data).

PSTN - Call Hold
You may use the PSTN “Call Hold” function to place STE calls on hold. To place a call on hold, press the
HOLD
button. When a call has been placed on hold, the
CALL
indicator associated with the call placed
on hold will flash (0.2 seconds on, 0.8 seconds off).

PSTN - Call Transfer
You may be able to transfer a non-secure voice call to another party by using the
HOOKFLASH
key.
Consult your local PSTN network operating instructions.

PSTN - Conference Call
You may be capable of holding a non-secure conference call by using the
HOOKFLASH
key. Consult
your local PSTN network operating instructions.
