Attaching the safety chain (export France)
WARNING
Risk of injury if safety chain is too short
If the safety chain is too short, it may tear off and lead to an emergency braking. This may
result in accidents.
Consult a specialist workshop (service technician) for the adjustment of the safety chain
length.
Make sure that the length of the safety chain is adapted to the tractor.
When changing the tractor, make sure that the length of the safety chain remains
appropriate.
WARNING
Risk of injury due to a malfunctioning safety valve of the hydraulic brake
Check whether the safety valve for the hydraulic emergency brake works properly. Otherwise
the emergency brake may fail in case of emergency. This may result in serious accidents.
The safety chain must be attached tension free to the tractor. A safety chain that is
wrapped too strong around the hydraulic hose prevents the function of the safety valve.
Apply pressure to the pressure accumulator brake on the safety valve by actuating once
completely the brake pedal of the service brake before starting to drive.
The safety chain is equipped with a weaker chain link at one point (predetermined breaking
point). If the machine detaches unintentionally, the safety valve triggers the emergency brake
and the safety chain tears off at the weaker chain link. The chain link is destroyed in this
process and must be replaced.
