Possible cause

Remedy

2.6

The blade lever is too far from
the billhook.

Align the blade lever (3):

Swivel the knotter up until the blade lever (3) passes
beyond the billhook (2).

Use a hammer to carefully set the blade lever (3) so that the
scraper comb (1) of the blade lever evenly touches the back
of the billhook (2).

When swinging the knotter up, a slight resistance has to
be noticeable when the blade lever passes over the bill-
hook.

2.7

The blade lever has axial play.

Tighten the nut (1) of the blade lever bolt (2); otherwise
replace the blade lever (3) or the bearing sleeve of the
blade lever bolt.

The scraper comb of the
blade lever does not run cent-
rally over the billhook.

Align the blade lever, see 2.6.

Replace the blade lever.

The scraper blade of the
blade lever is blunt.

Adjust or sharpen the cutting blade (1). Replace it, if
necessary.

The twine driver has been set
too far ahead.

Check the setting of the twine driver and readjust it, if
necessary,
