INSTALLATION
4.1 Installation Location and Precautions
To reduce the risk of serious injury or death, the following installation precautions must be followed.
4. Outdoor Unit Installation
Ɣ When installing the unit into…
Ɠ A wall: Make sure the wall is strong enough to hold the unit’s weight. It may be necessary to
construct a strong wood or metal frame to provide added support.
Ɠ A room: Properly insulate any refrigerant tubing run inside a room to prevent “sweating” that can

Ɠ Damp or uneven areas: Use a raised concrete pad or concrete blocks to provide a solid, level
foundation for the unit to prevent water damage and abnormal vibration.
Ɠ An area with high winds: Securely anchor the outdoor unit down with bolts and a metal frame.

Ɠ A snowy area: Install the outdoor unit on a raised platform that is higher than drifting snow. Provide

the foundation. If installing the unit on a roof or a balcony, provide the additional drainage around the
foundation to prevent water dripping on a person or forming ice in winter.
