Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect the O

sensor 4P (Black) connector
and measure the resistance at the O
2
sensor con-
nector terminals of the sensor side.
Is the resistance within 10 – 40

GO TO STEP 3.

Turn the ignition switch ON and engine stop
switch " ".
Measure the voltage between O
2
sensor 4P
(Black) connector of the wire harness side and
ground.
Is there battery voltage?
YES
–
GO TO STEP 4.
NO
–
Open circuit in the Black/white wire

Sensor Heater Open Circuit Inspection
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect the ECM 33P (Light gray) connector.
Check the continuity between the ECM 33P
(Light gray) connector and O
2
sensor 4P (Black)
connector of the wire harness side.
Is there continuity?
YES
–
GO TO STEP 5.
NO
–
Open circuit in Black/green wire

Sensor Heater Short Circuit Inspection 2
Connect the ECM 33P (Light gray) connector.
Check for continuity between the O
2
sensor
heater 4P (Black) connector of the wire harness
side and ground.
Is there continuity?
YES
–
Short circuit in Black/green wire
NO
–
Replace the ECM with a known good
one, and recheck; refer to Key Registra-
tion Procedures (page 21-6)
