Problem Causes and solutions
You cannot create FS
pairs. Causes:
• You have reached the maximum amount of cache management devices.
• You have not met the prerequisites to create the pair.
• The status of the specified volume is not displayed because you are deleting the
FS pair.
Solutions:
• Make sure that you have enough cache management devices to create the pairs
(see Fast Snap cache management device requirements on page 68).
• If cache management devices are running out, complete one of the following:
◦ Delete unnecessary external volumes.
◦ Delete unnecessary V-VOLs.
◦ Delete the FS pairs related to the P-VOL.
• Complete the following:
1. Fulfill the conditions to create the pair.
2. Create the pair.
• Execute the
inqraid
RAID Manager command and verify that the volume is not
used by FS, and then try the pair creation again.
A timeout occurs and the
RAID Manager command
ends abnormally (error
code
EX_EWSTOT
).
Cause: The consistency group contains an FS pair whose status cannot be
changed.
Solution: Resolve the error condition and perform pair tasks (see Notes on using
Fast Snap primary volumes as Continuous Access Synchronous, Business
Copy, or Continuous Access Journal pair volumes
on page 206 and Notes on
storing snapshot data, and on cloning pairs on page 207).
FS pairs are not displayed
in the volume list. Causes:
• You have not created the FS pairs.
• The filtering function is prohibiting the displaying of the pairs.
Solutions:
• Create the FS pairs.
• Change the settings in the Display Filter dialog box.
