Procedure
1. Wait until the configuration information has completed processing.
2. If the numbers remain different, click File > Refresh All .
Workflow for creating and managing Fast Snap pairs
1. Create the data pool (see Creating Fast Snap data pools on page 89).
2. Create the V-VOL for the pair (see Creating V-VOLs for Fast Snap S-VOLs on page 100).
3. Check the pair status (see Checking Fast Snap pair status on page 112).
4. Create the Fast Snap pair in one of the following ways.
• Create the pair using RWC.
For more information about how to create FS pairs using RWC, see Workflow for creating Fast
Snap pairs using Remote Web Console on page 113.
• Create the pair using RAID Manager and assign the pair to a snapshot group.
For more information about how to create Fast Snap pairs using RAID Manager, see Adding Fast
Snap pairs to snapshot or consistency groups using RAID Manager on page 119.
5. If you have assigned the pairs to a consistency group, split the Fast Snap pair using the consistency
group to store snapshot data.
6. Delete the snapshot data in one of the following ways.
• Delete the Fast Snap pairs (see Deleting Fast Snap pairs on page 129).
• Delete only the snapshot data (see Resynchronizing Fast Snap pairs on page 127).
Workflow for creating Fast Snap pairs using Remote Web
Console
In RWC, the pairs are configured based on the amount of snapshot data corresponding to the P-VOL, or
the number of S-VOLs that are assigned to snapshot data. Fast Snap uses MU numbers 0 to 1,023, and
they are assigned in the order of 3 to 1,023, followed by 0 to 2.
