• The pool usage rate has reached the warning threshold (see
• The I/O loads on the storage system are high.
• One of the following is blocked:
◦ The selected pool.
◦ The cache memory.
◦ The pool-VOLs in the selected pool.
◦ The external pool-VOLs in the selected pool.
• The access attribute on the pool-VOL in the selected pool has been corrected.
• You are not operating the format function for available pool capacity.
The following are circumstances under which the formatted pool capacity might decrease:
• New pages are being allocated.
• Correction copy is being executed.

Prerequisites
• The used capacity of the pool-VOL must be below the pool threshold.
• If you are deleting pool-VOLs with system area, there must be more than 4.2 GB of available capacity.
• You must not be currently performing any of the following tasks:
◦ Creating a pool.
◦ Deleting a pool.
◦ Increasing a pool.
◦ Deleting a pool-VOL to decrease the pool capacity.
◦ Recovering a pool.
◦ Stopping the process of decreasing pool capacity.
◦ Editing a data pool warning threshold.
◦ Simultaneously running RAID Manager commands to decrease the pool capacity.
• You must not be maintaining the cache memory.
• The cache memory must be up and running.
