You cannot maintain the consistency of Fast Snap S-VOLs that are defined in a consistency group in the
following cases:
• You are sharing a Fast Snap P-VOL with Business Copy, Continuous Access Synchronous, or
Continuous Access Journal S-VOLs, and the statuses of those pairs are not the same.
• You are sharing a Fast Snap P-VOL with a Continuous Access Journal S-VOL and they do not share
the same journal.
For more information about Continuous Access Journal, see the
HPE XP7 Continuous Access Journal
User Guide

Restoring Fast Snap pairs
Restoration of a Fast Snap pair may end abnormally in either of the following conditions:
• You are storing snapshot data for a consistency group that already includes the pair.
• You are using the P-VOL of the pair as the P-VOL of another Fast Snap pair and you are storing
snapshot data for a consistency group including the latter pair.
• In RAID Manager, use the
raidcom modify snapshot -snapshot_data resync
command for
normal copy, and the
raidcom modify snapshot -snapshot_data restore
command for
reverse copy.
For Fast Snap pairs where the cascade attribute is enabled, the information displayed in Synchronization
Rate (%) of the View Pair Synchronization Rate window, or the information displayed by the
raidcom
get snapshot
command varies depending on the pair status. For details, see
CAUTION:
Failures can occur while restoring Fast Snap pairs, which suspends the pairs ("PSUE"
status).
For more information about restoring suspended Fast Snap pairs, see
on page 126.
The amount of time required for restoration depends on the following, even if the pair synchronization rate
is 100 percent:
• The amount of capacity the pool is using.
• The number of pairs being resynchronized concurrently.
