Smart Relays
Like VSPs, Smart Relays rely on communication from the Wiring Panel. Their 4 conductor cable is
wired to the same connector as a VSP. Wire the cable as shown below. Up to two Smart Relays can
be controlled by the OmniPL.
Valve Actuators
The OmniPL can control up to four automatic valve actuators. Two of the valve outputs are normally
used for the pool/spa suction (Valve2) and return (Valve1) valves. Valve3 and Valve4 are for general
purpose use (solar, water feature, in-floor cleaner, etc.).
For installations with solar heating, Hayward offers the AQ-SOL-KIT-xx solar kit that contains a valve,
actuator, and extra temperature sensor. The “xx” indicates the valve type from the 2 choices below:

2” Positive Seal
The OmniPL is compatible with standard valve actuators manufactured by Hayward, Pentair/Com-
pool, and Jandy. Actuators will connect to the VLV outputs on the Main Board. Refer to the diagram
on page 14 for the location of valve connectors (VLV) on the OmniPL Main Board. Record all con-
nections in the Connection Table on page 16.
