DNS Settings
Obtain DNS Settings
Automatically

DNS settings from DHCP.
DHCP servers often provide DNS information to the device
on top of the IP address. When DHCP is enabled and this
checkbox is enabled, the system will attempt to learn its
DNS settings from the DHCP servers (which avoids
unnecessary user configuration).
Primary DNS Server
Address
Obtain DNS Settings Automatically
Enter the primary DNS server address for your network.
Alternate DNS
Server Address
Obtain DNS Settings Automatically
Enter an alternate DNS server address for your network.
The alternate DNS server is used only if the primary server
is not responding.
Domain Name
Obtain DNS Settings Automatically
Enter the domain for the Makito
X.
Enable mDNS
Check this checkbox to enable the Multicast DNS (mDNS)
protocol as a means for third party entities to discover the
IP address of the Makito
X.
TIP:
Enabling mDNS allows an mDNS application to
automatically find the encoder.
mDNS Identifier
(Optional) Enter a unique name for the encoder. By default,
the system creates a unique name “MakitoXD
(%HOSTNAME%)”) for the device.
