D
ESCRIPTION
The
edid
command is used on the Makito
X DVI to set the DVI-D preferred resolution
advertised as part of the HDMI EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) so that
connected devices do not scale their output resolutions to match the current Makito
X
DVI
default (1080p). The current default may cause image distortion issues when computer
graphics resolutions are encoded for some third party equipment.
TIP
This is useful because some computer video cards do not allow users to specify a
resolution other than the advertised preferred one. If you have trouble getting your
computer to send the proper graphic resolution to the Makito
X, forcing the EDID to
advertise that resolution as its preferred input format is likely to remedy that situation.
NOTE
EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) is a data structure provided by a
digital display to communicate its capabilities to a video source device.
A
CTIONS
set
Selects the DVI-D preferred resolution.
get
Displays the current EDID settings.
reset
Resets the preferred resolution to the driver internal default
EDID.
