Tightening the toothed belt
Loosen .the .screws .A1 .on .both .sides .of .the .dro-
pout. .You .only .need .to .loosen .the
screws .until .the .dropout .can .move .freely.

Tighten .the .chain/toothed .belt .using .the .adjusting .
screw . A2. . You . have . reached . the . correct . chain .
tension when the chain is still able to move up
and .down .slightly .in .the .centre .(10-15 .mm). .Use .
a belt tension measuring device to check that
the . belt . tension . is . correct. .Consult . the . belt . ma-
nufacturer’s .instructions .to .determine .the .correct .
tension.

Hydraulic brakes
It . is . possible . that . brake . fluid . may . escape . from .
the .system .due .to .leaky .cables .and .connections. .
This can negatively impact the effectiveness of the
brakes. .Check .the .pipes .and .connections .for .tight-
ness .before .each .ride.
Do .not .ride .with .your .FLYER .if .fluid .is .leaking .from .
the .braking .system. .Allow .a .FLYER .specialist .re-
tailer to undertake repair work on this part imme

diately. .The .danger .of .your .brakes .failing .in .this .
condition .is .very .high. .
Ask . your . FLYER . specialist . retailer . for . detailed .
instructions regarding the operation and special
features .of .the .e-bike .braking .system, .even .if .you .
are .an .experienced .cyclist. .Practise .in .a .quiet, .safe .
area .with .no .traffic.

Do not brake continuously or too hard on
long downhill section, as your brakes
might overheat leading to reduced brak

the front and back brake on long and
steep downhill sections to allow the oth

sharply for a shorter time when taking
bends .or .if .you .are .riding .too .fast. .This .
allows the brakes to cool down in the
meantime.
