unconfigure switch
unconfigure switch {all} {enhanced}
Description
Returns the switch configuration to its factory default settings.
Syntax Description
Default
Resets configuration to factory defaults without reboot.
Usage Guidelines
Use unconfigure switch to reset the configuration to factory defaults, but without erasing the
configuration and rebooting. This preserves users account information such as date and time settings.
Include the parameter
all
to clear the entire current configuration, including all switch parameters, and
reboot using the last used image and configuration.
Include the parameter
enhanced
to clear the entire current configuration, with the exception of the
default configuration mode, which will be set to enhanced. In enhanced mode, the switch boots with all
ports disabled. If the
enhanced
parameter is not entered, the default configuration mode will be reset to
the standard mode, in which the switch boots with all ports in forwarding mode. To configure the
default startup configuration for the switch, use the
configure configuration-mode
command.
NOTE
After using the
unconfigure switch all
command, the
show configuration
output displays the VLAN
default without any ports assigned. The ports still belong to the VLAN default, as the
show vlan
output
correctly displays.
Example
The following command erases the entire current configuration, resets to factory defaults, and reboots
the switch using the last specified saved image and saved configuration:
unconfigure switch all
