Description
Sends an MPLS ping packet to a FEC over an LSP.
Syntax Description
Default

dot1p_value

Usage Guidelines
This command sends an MPLS ping packet to a FEC over an LSP. The mplsping command can be used
to verify data plane connectivity across an LSP. This is useful, since not all failures can be detected using
the MPLS control plane. The FEC can be specified using the
ipaddress
,
ipaddress/masklength
or
host_name
parameter. If the FEC is specified using the
host_name
parameter, the DNS client must be
configured so that the
host_name
can first be resolved to an IP address. The resolved host name IP
address is assumed to be a /32 prefix. If there is more than one outgoing LSP that matches the FEC, the
MPLS echo request will be sent on each LSP in round-robin fashion. For RSVP-TE LSPs, the FEC is
implied from the LSP configuration. The
lsp
keyword may be used to specify the tunnel LSP on which
to send the MPLS echo request. The tunnel LSP on which the MPLS echo request is sent is specified by
the
lsp_name
parameter. The TTL value in the MPLS Echo Request is set to 255.
ipaddress
Specifies the FEC.
ipaddress/masklength
Specifies the FEC.
host_name
Specifies the FEC. Must be able to be resolved to an IP address.
lsp_name
Determines the tunnel LSP on which the MPLS echo request.
ipaddress
Specifies the source IP address in the MPLS echo request.
exp_value
Specifies the experimental bits in the MPLS shim header of the MPLS echo
request.
start_size
Specifies the number of bytes to include as payload data in the MPLS ping
packet.
end_size
Determines whether size of the packet will increment by one byte for each
new MPLS echo request sent.
isp_name
Specifies the tunnel LSP on which to send the MPLS echo request.
ip
Specifies the return path for the MPLS echo response. Routes back to the
sender via an IPv4 packet with the IP Router Alert option.
mpls
Specifies the return path for the MPLS echo response. Switches the echo
reply back to the sender via an IPv4 packet over an LSP.
