Description
Adds a static multicast route to the static multicast routing table.
Syntax Description
Default
The default distance value is 0 (zero).
Usage Guidelines
None.
Example
The following command adds a static multicast route, specifying that the OSPF routing protocol will be
used:
configure mroute add 100.10.0.0/16 ospf 20.10.0.1 2
History
This command was first available in ExtremeWare 7.3.0
Platform Availability
This command is available on all platforms.
source
Specifies the IP address of the multicast source or RP.
mask
Specifies the mask of the IP address of the multicast source or RP.
protocol
(Optional) Specifies the unicast routing protocol that will be used. The source address will
be compared with only those routes that have been learned from the specified unicast
routing protocol.
rpf-address
Specifies the next hop (address) through which the source can be reached.
distance
(Optional) Specifies the distance metric that will be used to compare with the route that
would be obtained from the unicast routing table. The route preference is greater for the
route with the lower distance value. If this static multicast route has the same distance as
that of the route obtained from the unicast route table, the static multicast route will be
preferred. If the value for this argument is not specified, the default value of 0 (highest
preference) is assumed.
