b. After removing the RF Tuner Module, lay a piece of masonite or similar material
across the receiver and set the RF Tuner Module on it.
c. Reconnect the following cables and connectors.
1) A2P3 to A16J5.
2) A2P4B to A16J4B.
3) A2P5 to A16J5.
4) A2P6B to A16J6B.
5) A2A16A6-P4A to A16J4A.
6) A2A16A5-P6A to A16J6A.
7) A2J3 (flexible coaxial cable) to RF Tuner.
d. Place the Preamplifier/Tuning Regulator Board (A2A16A2) onto the 36 pin dou-
ble-sided extension board.
e. Place the Detector Board (A8) onto the 36 pin double-sided extension board and
connect a Digital Voltmeter to A8-16.
f. Turn-on the receiver. Leave the receiver in the "UNCAL" mode, e.g. UNCAL in-
dicator on.
g. Set the front panel controls as follows:
DETECTOR ...................................................PEAK
BANDWIDTH ...............................................Wideband position of the frequency
range selected.
ATTENUATION ...........................................0 dB
FREQUENCY RANGE .................................0.009-0.035 MHz.
FREQUENCY DISPLAY ..............................0.022 MHz
h. Using a Digital Voltmeter, check the voltage on A2A16A2-41/42. The Voltmeter
should in4.8 VDC ±0.2 VDC. If this voltage is not present, contact Elec-
tro-Metrics or your nearest Electro-Metrics representative for further help and in-
formation.
i. Remove the subminiature coaxial cable from A2A16A2-J2. Connect a Signal
Generator to A2J2. Set the Signal Generator for a 175.00 kHz CW signal with an
input level of +65.5 dB(µV) at A2A16A2-J2.
