b. Using an external Signal Generator, apply a 0.200 MHz CW signal at an input
level of +40 dB(µV) to A2J4 (RF Input). Peak the signal for a maximum indica-
tion on the front panel analog meter.
c. Remove the subminiature coaxial cable from A2A16A2-J1 (1.6 MHz Input) on
the Preamplifier/Tuning Regulator Board (A2A16A2) and connect it to the input
of a Spectrum Analyzer.
d. Select a dispersion range on the Spectrum Analyzer that will allow the 1.6 MHz
IF, the 0.200 MHz input signal, and the 1.8 MHz LO frequency to be displayed on
the CRT of the analyzer.
e. Adjust A2A16A1-R35 (Signal Null) to null out the CW signal component (0.200
MHz) and A2A16A1-R38 (LO NULL) to null out the LO component (1.8 MHz).
4.4.11.5 RF Frequency Bands 10-15 (A2A10-A2A15)
Proper operation of RF Frequency Ranges 10-15 depends upon the arrangement of the
internal components and short lead lengths. Due to the critical nature of these circuits, field repair
is not recommended. Schematic diagrams are included (Appendix H) as an aid in understanding
the operation of the EM-2115 and for emergency repair only.
Two options are recommended:
