4.2 Instrument Access/Disassembly/Assembly
(Refer to Figures 4.1 thru 4.5, Pages 4-33 thru 4-43)
4.2.1 Top/Bottom Cover Removal
4.2.1.1 Top Cover Removal
a.
Position the receiver top side up.
b.
Remove the five retaining screws (4-40 x 3/16) that secure the cover to the receiv-
er.
c.
Slide the cover back and out of the slots holding the cover in place.
d.
To replace the cover, reverse the above procedure.
4.2.1.2 Bottom Cover Removal
a.
Position the receiver bottom side up.
b.
Remove the five retaining screws (4-40 x 3/16) that secure the cover to the receiv-
er.
c.
Slide the cover back and out of the slots holding the cover in place.
d.
To replace the cover, reverse the above procedure.
PROCEDURAL NOTE
To remove the subminiature coaxial cables mentioned in the following pro-
cedures, use a 1/4-inch open end wrench. All cables are marked to ensure
correct placement.
4.2.2 RF Tuner Assembly (A2) Removal
a.
Remove the top and bottom covers.
b.
Remove the three flathead retaining screws (4-40 x 1/4) that secure the front lip of
the RF Turner Assembly in a milled cutout on the top of the RF bulkhead.
c.
Remove the following cables and connectors.

A2P3 from A16J5.
