A-1.0 Control Functions
All controls for operation of the EM-2115 Interference Analyzer are located on the front
panel. The location of each individual control and indicator is shown in Figure A.1 and described
in the following paragraphs.
A-2.0 Attenuator
The Attenuation circuit varies the EM-2115 input attenuation in either 20 dB increments
(manual operation) or 10 increments (computer operation) for a total attenuation range of 100
dB.
A-2.1 Attenuation Switches
Type: Momentary pushbutton switch.
Number: 2.
Indicator: LED, integrated into Increase Attenuation switch only.
Color: Red.
Function: Two (2) selection switches (

)(Increase/Decrease), used to select
the total receiver attenuation.
An integral LED indicator is part of the Increase Attenuation Switch and indicates
the need for increased receiver attenuation to avoid overload.
A-2.2 Attenuation Indicator
Type: Three digit LED display.
Color: Red.
Function: Indicates the total attenuation level of the receiver in dB.
NOTE: For reference use only. The attenuation setting is automati-
cally added to the Amplitude Display indication.
