CAUTION
For PERMANENTLY CONNECTED EQUIPMENT, a readily accessible disconnect device shall be incorporated in
the building installation wiring.
To prevent mechanical damage, coil and secure any excess cable away from the floor.
NOTE Hardwired units require a customer-supplied 50A upstream circuit breaker.
To Hardwire the BladeUPS:
1. Verify that the BladeUPS is properly installed in the rack and that each circuit breaker on the BladeUPS rear
panel is in the OFF (O) position.
2. If your rack has conductors for grounding or bonding of ungrounded metal parts, connect the ground cable
(not included) to the ground bonding screw on the BladeUPS rear panel.
3. Switch off utility power at the distribution point where the BladeUPS will be connected. Be absolutely sure
there is no power.
4. Remove the four screws from the Input/Output box access cover and retain.
5. Slide the access cover off the Input/Output box and retain.

NOTE The pre-punched wiring access entry accepts a 2.54 cm (1”) inner diameter bushing.
6. Pull the input and output wires through conduit, leaving approximately 15 cm (6") of exposed wire. Attach a
fitting to the end of each conduit.
7. Insert the fittings through the wiring access entries and secure with locking nuts. Trim wires to fit and strip
1.2 cm (0.5") of insulation from each wire.
8. Connect the input and output wires to the terminal block.
