NOTE
If a 4-pole Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) is used to connect the UPS to a generator or alternative input source, it
may interrupt the UPS input neutral during its transition between sources. This UPS should always have an input
source neutral connected at the bypass input terminals. This neutral must be continuous and uninterrupted; even if
there are no phase-to-neutral loads connected to the UPS output. If the UPS is fed from a 4-pole ATS that interrupts
the neutral, a delta-to-wye isolation transformer, with its secondary neutral bonded to ground, must be placed in line
with the bypass input of the UPS. This will provide an uninterrupted neutral to the UPS, regardless of the position of
the ATS neutral contact. If an overlapping neutral or make-before-break ATS switch is used, the neutrals must
overlap for a minimum of 50 msec during the transition. In these cases, a transformer is not needed. For the
BladeUPS a neutral break of over 50ms may be acceptable Please consult with Eaton engineering resources to
confirm this is will not create an operational issue.
NOTE
Refer to the Eaton® BladeUPS® Maintenance Bypass Module User’s Guide for MBM
wiring specification information.
6.
Remove the Wireway Access Cover.
•
Install and attach approved electrical conduit to the holes previously added to the conduit landing
plate.
•
Pull approved electrical conductors for the system, and connect the input, output, and ground wires to
the BladeUPS Bar top entry terminal block.
•
Route the three input phases and the input neutral through the mounted or loosened ferrite assembly.
7.
Replace the cabinet top panel:
•
Locate the cabinet top panel.
•
Align the top panel with the protruding mounting screws in the front (three screws) and back
(two screws).
•
Push down the top panel to snuggly fit over the screws.
