Information Requested by the Telephone Company
Information Requested by the Telephone Company
If the telephone company requests information about the equipment connected to their
lines, you should provide them with the following information:
•
Telephone number to which the device is connected.
•
Ringer equivalence number (REN), found on the FCC sticker attached to the
device. The REN determines the number of devices which may be connected to
the same telephone number. In most areas, the sum of the RENs of all devices
connected to the same line should not exceed five. If too many devices are
attached, they may not ring properly.
•
USOC telephone jack required (RJ11, RJ41, or RJ45).
•
FCC registration number, which is found on the FCC sticker attached to the
device.
