What is the DECserver 900MC?
The DECserver 900MC is a nine-port network access server that provides remote
access connections to an Ethernet local area network (LAN). The DECserver 900MC
includes four megabytes (MB) of memory and runs Version 2.1 (or greater) of the
DECserver Network Access Server (DNAS) software.
You can install and configure the DECserver 900MC in a DEChub 900 MultiSwitch
(also referred to as DEChub 900) or as a stand-alone unit in a DEChub ONE or
DEChub ONE-MX docking station.
The DECserver 900MC contains one serial port and eight modem ports. Each modem
port is equipped with a built-in Microcom DeskPorte Fast+ modem.
Each DeskPorte Fast+ modem provides the following features:

V.34 data rates up to 33,600 Bps
•
2-wire switched line interface through individual 8-pin MJ connectors
•
Universal Direct Access Arrangement (DAA)
(DAA allows different countries to connect without requiring different product
variants or hardware jumpers.)
•
V.42 and V.42bis error correction and data compression protocols
•
Microcom Networking Protocol (MNP) support (see Appendix D, Microcom
Networking Protocol)
•
Cellular operation using the MNP Class 10 protocol with Adverse Channel
Enhancements (ACE) (see Appendix D, Microcom Networking Protocol)
