The world'scoral reefs, where

myriad of other creatures of the
tropics come together. Aptly
nicknamed "Tropical torests under
the sea". these spots of
breathtaking beuty serve as home
to countless varieties of life. And
to us of the land, the warm
tropical seas and all the romantic,
dream-like, alluring world. Sadly,
however, the continuing
contamination of the world's
oceans in recent years has dealt
blow afeter destructive blow to a
great many reefs.

This mode is best suited for
making copies from text originals
(Equivalent to 1200 dpi).
You can make a fine copy even if
text original is thin like written by a
pencil.
This mode is best suited for making
copies from originals containing both
text and photos, or photo originals
containing half-tones (i.e. printed
photos) (Equivalent to 1200 dpi).
Selecting Image Quality
You can adjust image quality to the level best suited to the quality of text or photo originals. The
following three modes are available for adjusting image quality.
Adjusting Exposure and Image Quality (COPY EXPOSURE)
NOTICE
●
If you make copies of an original containing half-tones such as a printed photograph using the Photo
mode, moiré may occur. If this happens, you can soften this moiré effect by using the Sharpness mode.

Combinations of these three modes cannot be set. If you select one of these modes, the previously set
mode is cancelled.
MEMO
●
When you have selected the Text, Text/Photo or Photo mode, the copy exposure can be adjusted only by
Manual Exposure Control. Automatic Exposure Control [A] cannot be selected.
●
If the original is a transparency, select the Text, Text/Photo or Photo mode to adjust the image quality to
the most appropriate level.
Place your original on the machine and press the
[
] (TEXT), or [
] (TEXT/PHOTO) key.

Move the indicator above the [

left to make the exposure lighter or to the right to
make the exposure darker.

If you press the [

] [A] [

] keys while Automatic
Exposure Control is active (i.e. the [A] key is high-
lighted), the [A] key returns to normal and Manual
Exposure Control become active.
Proceed to make copies in the usual way.

MEMO

You can cancel the mode by pressing the
Reset
key. (The machine returns to the Standard mode.)
This mode is best suited for making
copies from photos printed on photo-
graphic paper (Equivalent to 600 dpi).
When the Photo mode in the custom copy
setting is set to [ON], [PHOTO] is
displayed.(See "Photo Mode," on p. 4-33.)
