What are "Additional Functions"?
When you turn the power ON or when you press the
Reset
key, the settings of this ma-
chine return to their initial settings.
"Additional Functions" allows you to change initial values by, for example, choosing
whether or not to use the initial values (defaults) for each of the modes supported on
this machine, or whether or not a mode is to be used. Defaults can also be changed by
storing or setting new values.
This chapter describes items that can be set in the Custom Common Settings screen,
Timer Settings screen, and Adjustment/Cleaning screen.
NOTICE
●
Depending on the options installed on your machine, some items can not be set. For example, setting of
Image Server Custom Settings when the printer function is not installed etc. Such items will either not be
displayed on the touch panel display, or will be shaded over in the display. In the touch-panel illustrations of
this manual, all items are shown as available.
When the power switch on the control panel is turned OFF, the
touch-panel display goes out and the machine enters the Sleep
mode.
The Sleep mode helps to conserve power, but there will be a slight
delay when starting to use the machine next time.
To reactivate the machine, press the power switch on the control
panel. The Basic Features screen will appears on the touch-panel
display.
Pressing the
COPY
key,
FAX
key or
PRINT•I/F
key also reactivates the
machine.
MEMO
●
When the FAX function is installed, you can set your machine so that the FAX Basic Features screen is
displayed when the power is turned on. (See "Selecting the Default Function (COPY/FAX) at Power On,"
p.4-6.)
●
When the FAX function or the Printer Function is installed, documents received by FAX and instructions
from a host computer can be printed even while the machine is in the Sleep mode. If you want FAX to
receive while you are absent, use the Sleep mode.
●
If the FAX functions or the Printer functions are not installed, turn off the main switch when you do not
intend to use the machine for a long period of time, such as at night.
Auto Sleep
If the machine is not operated for a period of about 1 hour after copying has finished or after a keying
operation, the control panel power switch automatically moves to the OFF position, and the machine
enters the Sleep mode.
To turn the power back ON, press the control panel power switch to the ON position.
Pressing the
COPY
key,
FAX
key or
PRINT•I/F
key also reactivates the machine.
MEMO
●
You can set the auto sleep time from 30 minutes to 4 hours. (See "Setting the Time to Initiate Auto Sleep
after Finishing Operations," on p. 4-25.)
MEMO
●
There are also fax default settings that you can change. For information, please see Chapter 6.
