Charging
Instructions
Charging Precautions
•
Children should be supervised when
in the vicinity of plugged-in charging
equipment.
•
Charge the vehicle in a safe environment
(away from fire or heat sources).
•
Inspection and procedure before
charging:
»
Make sure there are no abnormalities
with the power supply equipment,
charging connector, charging port,
adapter, etc., such as cable wear,
port rust, shell rupture or foreign
substances in the port.
»
Do not charge when the metal terminal
of the power plug/outlet or the
charging connector/port is damaged
or loosely connected due to rust or
corrosion. Contact a BYD authorised
dealer or service provider.
»
When there is obvious staining or
moisture on the power plug/outlet or
charging connector/port, please wipe
it with a dry, clean cloth to ensure that
the joint is dry and clean.
•
Use only certified charging equipment
specifically designed for electric vehicles:
»
Do not attempt to modify,
disassemble, or service the charging
equipment yourself. There are no user
serviceable parts inside.
»
Uncertified products are strictly
prohibited.
•
In order to avoid damage to charging
equipment:
»
Do not hit the charging equipment, or
subject it to falls or collisions in order
to prevent mechanical damage.
»
Do not expose the charging equipment
to heat.
•
When the state of charge (SOC) bar
on the instrument is red, it indicates
that battery power is about to run out.
Charge the vehicle immediately. Failure
to do so can reduce the battery life and
jeopardise the driving experience.
•
To ensure safety, it is recommended
that the vehicle is powered off before
charging.
•
To reduce the risk of electric shock,
never operate equipment with wet
hands.
•
Inserting Charging Connector before
Charging:
»
Make sure that that there are no
foreign objects in the charging
connector and charging port, and the
electric shock protection cap of the
charging connector terminal is not
loose or deformed.
»
While holding the charging connector,
aim it at the charging port and push
it in. Check to ensure it is properly
inserted.
•
If there is anything abnormal about
either the vehicle or charging equipment
when charging, stop immediately and
contact a BYD authorised dealer or
service provider.
•
Do not conduct vehicle repairs or testing
while charging.
When charging, the following precautions
must be taken in order to prevent damage:
»
Do not shake the charging connector.
Doing so may damage the charging
port of the vehicle.
»
Given the risk of lightning strikes,
charging the vehicle during a
thunderstorm is not recommended.
