Concealed Damage
Damage in tyres and rims is often
concealed. Abnormal vehicle vibration or
straying when driving indicates that tyres
may be damaged. If tyres are suspected to
be damaged, reduce speed immediately
and stop to check for any damage. If no
damage is found, contact a BYD authorised
dealer or service provider for an inspection
as soon as possible.
Precautions for Wheel Failure
When driving over a kerb or similar
obstacle, the tyre angle should be as right
as possible and speed as low as possible.
Regularly check tyre damage (e.g.,
breakage, wear, deformation, bulging, etc.).
Regularly remove any debris embedded in
tread grooves.
New Tyres and Wheels
Size, load range, rated speed and structure
of new tyres should be the same as those
of the original ones.
Try not to replace only one tyre, but at least
two on the same axle at the same time. Do
not mix tyres of different sizes or types, and
do not mix summer tyres, winter tyres or
all-season tyres.
Winter Tyres and Summer Tyres
Winter Tyres
Winter tyres have good grip performance
on snow-covered roads. The special rubber
tread design makes the tyre less affected
by low temperature environments, and
provides excellent braking ability, thus
improving driving safety.
It is recommended that winter tyres are
used when the temperatures are below 7° C
or when the vehicle runs on snowy and icy
roads.
Use radial winter tyres which are licensed for
this vehicle and have the same size, load and
rated speed as those of the original ones.
The winter tyre tread should be sufficiently
deep (tread depth should not be below
4mm, otherwise the applicability in winter
will be limited).
Check tyre pressure after installing.
Summer Tyres
The summer season is generally rainier,
so tyre tread depth directly affects driving
safety. There is a high risk of hydroplaning
when the tread depth of summer tyres is
below 3mm.
Recommendations for Use
Winter and summer tyres are designed
for specific driving conditions in their
corresponding seasons. It is recommended
that winter and summer tyres are used in
their respective seasons. Doing otherwise
may result in poor adhesion and braking
ability.
If summer tyres are used under major cold
weather conditions, cracks may appear,
resulting in tyre damage, increased tyre
noise and loss of balance.
Traction may decrease, road noise may
increase and tread life may shorten on
dry roads. After changing to winter tyres,
beware of the changes in vehicle control
and braking.
The maximum speed of winter tyres is
relatively low, so do not exceed maximum
speed.
When the temperature rises above 7° C,
tyres should be quickly replaced with
summer tyres or all-season tyres to ensure
driving safety and performance.
Tyre Service Life
Tyre service life depends on pressure,
driving habits and assembly conditions.
