DRIVING
WARNING!
•
If another vehicle changes to the lane
on which the vehicle is running and
falls within the detection range of
the radar, it will be recognised as a
target vehicle and a response will be
received. In this event, forced braking
or late braking may occur.
•
While following a vehicle ahead to
stop, ACC is unable to identify the end
of the target vehicle ahead and will
instead identify its lower end (e.g. the
rear axle of a truck with high chassis
or the bumper of a vehicle) in very
few cases. Should these occur, ACC is
unable to ensure a proper stopping
distance, and the driver must stay
vigilant and ready to brake at any
time.
•
When ACC is activated while the
vehicle is stationary, it will identify
any stationary obstacle in front as a
vehicle. It will then keep the vehicle
stationary to ensure safe starting so as
to avoid collision with said stationary
target caused by unexpected starting.
However, this function cannot identify
all obstacles, so the driver must
ensure that there are no obstacles or
other traffic participants in front of
the vehicle.
•
Radar sensors can be affected by
vibration or collisions, resulting in
compromised ACC performance.
Should this occur, contact a BYD
authorised dealer or service provider.
WARNING!
•
Radar sensors are installed in the
front area of the vehicle. Pollutants
blocking the visual field will interfere
with expected functions. ACC will be
deactivated when snow accumulates
and completely covers the sensor. If it
has been deactivated, ACC will notify
the driver through the instrument
cluster. At this time, remove the
pollutants and restart the vehicle, or
drive along a normal road for a certain
distance to return system functions to
normal.
•
If the vehicle runs under special road
conditions such as a circular parking
lot or a tunnel for an extended period,
the radar may malfunction for a short
time due to limitations in its detection
capabilities. In this event, the driver
can restore function by restarting the
vehicle or by driving along a normal
road for a certain distance.
•
Structural retrofitting of the vehicle
(such as lowering the chassis or
changing the front license plate frame)
may compromise ACC performance.
•
Metal objects such as rails or metal
plates may interfere with the radar
and make it unable to be fully
functional.
•
In some circumstances, detection
may be affected or delayed. If the
radar reflection cross-sectional
area of the target is too small (e.g. a
bicycle, carriage, or pedestrian), there
is a risk that ACC will be unable to
identify the distance from the target
ahead, resulting in late response or no
response to these targets. Moreover,
the detection may be affected by
noise or electromagnetic interference,
resulting in delay or interference.
Should these situations occur, the
driver needs to control the vehicle
speed.
