Automatic
Emergency Collision Warning
on/off.
With PCW on:
•
Safety distance alarm
: when the
vehicle running at a speed of above 65
km/h is too close to another vehicle
ahead for an extended period, PCW
will issue a safety distance alarm along
with the AEB indicator lit up on the
instrument cluster to alert the driver of
the insufficient following distance.
•
Pre-alarm
: When the driving speed is
30-150 km/h and PCW determines that
there is a risk of collision with the vehicle
ahead, an audio and visual pre-alarm
will be given. The AEB indicator on
the instrument cluster will light up and
the buzzer will beep. The driver must
take prompt and appropriate actions to
ensure a safe following distance.
•
Emergency alarm
: When the driving
speed is 30-150 km/h and the driver fails
to take proper actions as soon as the
pre-alarm is given, the risk of collision
will be aggravated. The system will
issue a visual and tactile pre-alarm,
along with the AEB indicator flashing
on the instrument cluster, possibly
accompanied by short beeps to alert the
driver to apply brakes. The driver must
take prompt and appropriate actions to
ensure a safe following distance.

Automatic
Emergency Braking (AEB)
on/off.
If the driver does not respond to the
emergency alarm and the situation
escalates further, the system will enter AEB
mode. The system will apply braking forces
within its capability to avoid or mitigate any
impact caused by the collision.
If the driver has applied brakes during
an emergency but the braking forces are
insufficient, the brake system will provide the
maximum braking forces to avoid or mitigate
any impact caused by the collision.
System Limit
PEBS may be affected or fail to work if:
•
The vehicle is running in conditions with
rain, snow, fog, excessive splashing or
glare, where the system is exposed to
direct sunlight, or where the lighting
conditions vary greatly;
•
The sensors are dirty, fogged, damaged
or blocked;
•
The radar malfunctions due to
interference from other radar sources
(e.g. strong radar reflections in multi-
story parking lots).
In complex traffic situations, PEBS may not
be able to respond correctly if:
•
Pedestrians or vehicles are moving into
the radar detection range too quickly;
