Check the appearance of the 12V battery
(starter Fe battery) for cracks and swelling.
If any abnormality is found, contact a BYD
authorised dealer or service provider.
Replacing the 12V battery
(starter Fe battery)
The 12V battery (starter Fe battery) must be
replaced with another of the same model
and specification. It is recommended that a
BYD authorised dealer or service provider is
contacted to replace it.
SUSTAINABILITY
• Please recycle the 12V battery (starter
Fe battery) in accordance with local
regulations.
Precautions for 12V battery
(starter Fe battery) Use and
Maintenance
Please read and observe the following
precautions when using and maintaining
the 12V battery (starter Fe battery).
WARNING!
•
When removing the 12V battery
(starter Fe battery) terminals,
make sure to remove the cathode
terminal first. If the anode terminal
makes contact with any metal in the
surrounding area during removal,
there may be sparks and even fire, as
well as a high risk of electric shock,
resulting in serious or even life
threatening injury.
WARNING!
•
Turn off all electrical equipment on
the vehicle before turning on the
12V battery (starter Fe battery) again.
First connect the anode terminal and
then the cathode. Do not install the
12V battery (starter Fe battery) in the
wrong order, as this may cause fire.
• The 12V battery (starter Fe battery)
should be kept away from heat
sources and open flames, and it
should be well-ventilated when
charged and used. Failure to do so
may result in fire or personal injury.
• Regularly check whether the fixing
clips of the 12V battery (starter Fe
battery) terminal are firm and in good
contact.
•
The 12V battery (starter Fe battery)
has a built-in power manager. Do
not disassemble or repair the 12V
battery (starter Fe battery) without
authorisation, so as to avoid damage
or personal injury.
CAUTION!
•
Avoid Fe battery overcharging or
long-term power loss.
•
Avoid long-term heavy-current
discharge of the 12V battery (starter
Fe battery).
•
The 12V battery (starter Fe battery)
should be firmly installed on the
vehicle to avoid vibration.
• Oxides and sulfates generated by
fixing clips of 12V battery (starter Fe
battery) terminals must be cleaned
quickly, and grease should be applied
to avoid corrosion reincidence.
• Starter Fe batteries need to be
charged with professional tools. Do
not take them out or charge them
without authorisation.
