1.12.2 Creating a RAID 5 Array
When a system is purchased with a RAID 5 configuration, the media drives will come
pre-configured from the factory. Use the following steps to configure the media drives
when ordered after the initial system purchase or if the RAID must be rebuilt. Note that
RAID 5 and the following steps are only available on Windows 7 systems shipped after
April 2012.
To create a RAID 5 Array:
1.
In the Start menu of the desktop,
navigate to the
All Programs, Intel,
Intel Rapid Storage Technology
, as
shown on the right.
2.
On the top menu strip, click on
Create
button.
3.
In the Select Volume Type section,
select the
Efficient data hosting and
protection (RAID 5)
radio button, as
shown on the right.
4.
Click on the
Next
button.
