15.1. Teaching feeding trough position
Description You can teach the feeding trough position to
minimize the area of the cow in the cow box, so
that she stands still in the box during milking. As
soon as the cow has left the box, the system
saves the feeding box position for the respective
cow in the database. From that moment the last
set position applies for that cow.
Correct position The feeding trough has the correct position when:
 the cow has a straight back and is free in the
milking box;
 the cow tracker is 3-5 cm free from the frame.
Correct moment You have to teach the feeding trough position
during the first session of manual.
Buttons Table 15-2 shows an overview and a description
of the buttons which you use for teaching the
feeding trough position.

Moves the feeding trough backwards.
Steps To teach the feeding trough position for the cow
in the box, follow the steps in Scheme 15-1 .
STEP ACTION
1. Switch the milking box to the
MANUAL
control mode.
2. Let the cow enter the cow box.
3. Wait until the vacuum pump is working.
4. Teach the correct position of the feeding trough with the teach pendant.
