IP 55 standard
The milking robot is classified as IP55. This does
not apply when you leave watertight
compartments (like the control cabinets) open
and the containing parts exposed to water.
18.2.
Laser beam
Description
The milking robot uses a laser beam to locate the
teats of the cow. The laser is located behind the
window of the attach tool at the end of the
robotic arm. The laser beam is used in the
following actions:
The automatic connection of the teat cups by
the robotic arm;
Locating the teat-positions;
Testing the robotic arm when locating the
teat-positions.
18.3.
Electronic parts
Description
The milking robot consists of several electronic
parts. These are:
Control cabinets;
Hydraulic valves;
Pneumatic valves;
Sensors.
Water sensitivity
The electronic parts are extremely sensitive to
water. Thereforee it is important that you never
spray water on these parts, or their enclosures.
Make sure that the enclosures and doors are
closed during cleaning.
The guaranteed IP55 standard does not apply any
longer when you leave electronic parts exposed
to water.
