Chapter 25: Multicast protocol configuration
using the ACLI
This chapter describes the procedures used to configure Multicast Listener Discovery (MLD) on your
Avaya Ethernet Routing Switch 8800/8600.
MLD provides group management capabilities by allowing hosts to inform routers of membership status
within groups. MLD discovers the presence of multicast listeners on directly attached links. MLD provides
the necessary information to route multicast packets to routers requiring multicast traffic.
