3. Basics of Tactilon Dabat
Tactilon Dabat is an easy-to-use, smart and secure dual-mode device (DMD)
designed for public safety and security professionals. You can use it as a
TETRA radio for critical communications or as a smartphone for mobile
applications and special public safety apps. Tactilon Dabat is comfortable
even in prolonged use, and can be used with gloves on or even when the
screen is switched off.
On the outside, Tactilon Dabat looks like a regular fully rugged smartphone,
but it offers the special multi-purpose push-to-talk (
PTT
) button familiar from
the Airbus TETRA radios. Two further physical function buttons provide you
instant access to the PMR Status Bar (
Function 2
) and the
(
Function 1
). Because of the physical buttons, the main features of Dabat –
for example group calls, emergency calls, and volume settings of an ongoing
call – can be used with or without access to the graphical interface of the
device.
Tactilon Dabat has still and video cameras for capturing the images, which
can be shared within your organisation in a controlled, safe way.
Tactilon Dabat can operate on any standard TETRA network on the 380-430
MHz frequency band.
Tactilon Dabat is IP65 and IP67 certified.
