Positioning
GNSS receiver
The Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) is a worldwide radio
navigation system that includes satellites and their ground stations that
monitor the operation of the satellites. Your device is equipped with an
internal GNSS receiver.
A GNSS terminal, such as the GNSS receiver in the Tactilon Dabat, receives
low-power radio signals from the satellites, and measures the travel time of
the signals. From the travel time, the GNSS receiver can calculate its location
to the accuracy of metres.
When the GNSS receiver is on, the Positioning
icon is displayed on
Android Status Bar. If the icon blinks, the GNSS receiver is calculating its
location. When using the GNSS receiver, do not touch the antenna of the
device; the antenna of the GNSS receiver is located there. Hold the device
upright in your hand at an angle of about 45 degrees, with a clear view of the
sky.
The GNSS receiver in the Tactilon Dabat takes its power from the device’s
battery. Note that using the GNSS receiver may drain the battery faster.
Note that establishing a GNSS connection may take from a couple of seconds
to several minutes. The availability and quality of GNSS signals may be
affected by buildings, natural obstacles, and weather conditions. When the
GNSS receiver is on, is displayed. If the indicator blinks, the GNSS receiver is
calculating its location.
