Changing of the call type
If the emergency call is configured differently in your device than in the
TETRA network, the network may change the call type.
Emergency calls in direct mode
A direct mode (DMO) emergency call is initiated and ended in the same way
as emergency calls in the network mode (TMO). However, there are three
significant differences between TMO and DMO emergency calls:
•
The DMO emergency call is always made to the currently selected group.
Therefore, the DMO emergency call is always a group call.
•
The DMO emergency call can be ended only by the person who initiated
the call when s/he has the speech item. If you initiated the call, press the
End call button and confirm that you want to end the emergency call.
If you did not initiate the call, but try to end it by pressing the End call
button, the emergency call is blocked temporarily.
In the DMO emergency call, the bottom part of the PMR Status Bar is red, and
the text
Emergency
is shown in the top right corner of the PMR Status Bar.
Man down detection
is intended as a lifeguard in dangerous and high-risk
situations. It can be used both in the network mode (TMO) and direct mode

is based on the movement and verticality of the device. If
the device is inactive for longer than the inactivity timer allows, a Man down
alert is raised by the device. If you do not cancel the alert,
started. The alert continues as a periodic alert during the

call to a predefined phone number – or sending of user’s location to a
predefined phone number, depending on how the device is configured.

Only operations supported by the current operation mode can be

not possible in the DMO.
