6. Remove the fuel tank (Chapter Eight) and dis-
connect the meter assembly connector (

)

from its harness mate.

7. Connect the voltmeter positive test lead to the
yellow terminal (A,

Figure 66

) in the harness side

of the connector; connect the voltmeter negative
test probe to the black terminal (B).

8. Turn the main switch on and turn the dimmer
switch to HI. The meter should read battery voltage.

9. If any voltage reading does not equal battery
voltage, the wiring between the main switch and the
headlight connector is faulty.
