20. Insert a finger into the carburetor venturi, press
the needle jet toward the float bowl and remove it

CAUTION
When cleaning a carburetor, do not
adjust the pilot screw setting. Chang
ing this setting will decrease engine
performance.
21. If necessary, remove the pilot screw as de-
scribed in
Pilot Screw
in this chapter.
22. Clean and inspect the components as described
in this section.
Assembly
1. If the pilot screw was removed, install it as de-
scribed in
Pilot Screw
in this chapter.
2. Install the needle jet (
Figure 58
) so the concave
side goes into the carburetor body.
3. Install the needle jet holder (
Figure 57
) with a
new O-ring and install the main jet (
Figure 56
).
4. Install the starter jet (
Figure 55
) and spacer.
5. Install the pilot jet (
Figure 54
).
6. Install the valve seat into the carburetor body
(
Figure 59
). Secure it in place with the screw (A,
Figure 53
).
7. Hook the needle valve onto the tang on the float.
Install the float so the needle valve (A,

)
seats in the valve seat (B).
