4. Define the search index the Search Tool is to use.
By default, the Search Tool looks in all search indexes for files
containing the search string. From the Look In: list box,
however, you can select a specific search index. For example, you
might only want to search with an index to a removable Jaz
cartridge.
5. Click the Find Now button, or press Enter, to start the
search.
In a few moments, documents meeting the search criteria are
shown in the view area of the Search Tool main window (refer to
Figure 4–66).

Defining a search string
A search string forms the basis of a search operation. A search
string can be:

a simple word or phrase

a concept
◆
based on proximity
◆
natural language
◆
an example
Simple searches
In its simplest form, a search string is a word or phrase contained
in the document or documents you want to search for.
For example, if you wanted to find documents about scanning,
you could simply type:
