NOTICE

high setpoint

The tonnage limit above which AutoSetPAC generates a high tonnage fault,

stopping the press and displaying a fault message. To calculate the high

setpoint, AutoSetPAC multiplies the high setpoint percentage specified in

Program mode by the

reference tonnage

and adds this value to the reference

tonnage.

linearity

The proportional increase of tonnage readings with increasing load, a

measure of how well the press has been calibrated. When a press has been

calibrated for linearity, AutoSetPAC should read 40 tons when 40 tons is

applied to the load cells and 80 tons when 80 tons is applied.

low setpoint

The tonnage limit below which AutoSetPAC generates a low tonnage fault,

stopping the press and displaying a fault message. To calculate the low

setpoint, AutoSetPAC multiplies the low setpoint percentage specified in

Program mode by the

reference tonnage

and subtracts this value from the

reference tonnage.

nuisance stop

A press shutdown initiated by AutoSetPAC because setpoints have been set

too close to normal tonnage values or normal tonnage variations. As a result,

setpoints are regularly exceeded, causing unnecessary press shutdowns.

reference tonnage

The highest tonnage measured by AutoSetPAC during the sample period.

repeatability setpoint The limit in tonnage variation from one stroke to the next above which

AutoSetPAC generates a repeatability fault, stopping the press and

displaying a fault message. To calculate the repeatability setpoint,

AutoSetPAC multiplies the repeatability setpoint percentage specified in

Program mode by the

reference tonnage

reverse setpoint

The reverse tonnage limit above which AutoSetPAC generates a reverse

tonnage fault, stopping the press and displaying a fault message. To calculate

the reverse tonnage setpoint, AutoSetPAC multiplies the reverse setpoint

percentage specified in Initialization mode by the Initialization setting for the

full-scale capacity of the press.

sample period

The number of strokes during which AutoSetPAC collects and measures

press tonnage in order to calculate high, low, and repeatability setpoints.

AutoSetPAC calculates setpoints using the highest tonnage measured during

the sample period as the reference tonnage.
