Chapter 6 Troubleshooting

•

If you have a 4-channel AutoSetPAC, repeat this process for the remaining two strain

link connectors.

If you are still having difficulty, contact Wintriss Tech. Support.

Displayed Tonnage Is Lower Than It Should Be

If the tonnage displayed for one or more strain links is lower than you think it should be, do the

following:
If your system is new or has just been calibrated:
1.

Verify that the zero cam signal is closed to ground during the top of the stroke and open at the

bottom of the stroke, referring to the Zero Cam LED (DS104) on the AutoSetPAC processor

board (see Figure 2-6, page 37, or Figure 2-7, page 38). The zero cam signal is closed to ground

when the LED is lit, open when the LED is unlit.

Check to make sure that the mounting and wiring of the corresponding strain link(s) were

performed correctly. Make sure that the strain links are mounted on a clean, flat surface. See

Installing Strain Links

, page 41.

Check to make sure that the calibration was done properly. Check to see if the calfactors are

correct. Make sure that the calfactors you set are the same as the ones you wrote down during the

calibration. Refer to Chapter 3.

If you have an existing installation:

Check for a stretched or broken tie rod on straight-side presses.

Tonnage Display(s) Shows No Tonnage

Check to make sure that the zero cam signal from SmartPAC to AutoSetPAC has been wired

correctly (see

Connecting the Zero Cam Signal to SmartPAC 2 or SmartPAC PRO

, page

48).

Verify that the zero cam signal is closed to ground during the top of the stroke and open at the

bottom of the stroke, referring to the Zero Cam LED (DS104) on the AutoSetPAC processor

board (see Figure 2-6, page 37, or Figure 2-7, page 38). The zero cam signal is closed to ground

when the LED is lit, open when the LED is unlit.

Front Tonnage Displays Show No Tonnage (4-Channel Units)

Check the setting of switch #7 on S101 (see page 61). If the switch is set to ON, which enables 2-

channel operation in a 4-channel AutoSet, change the setting back to OFF, the default.

If setting switch #7 to OFF does not solve the problem, or if the switch is already in the OFF

position, contact Wintriss Tech. Support.
