5 Operation General settings

BackLight Time
The backlight of the screen requires a relatively large
amount of energy. To save energy, you can select a
time period after which the brightness level is automati-
cally turned to a minimum value when there is no key
press or tap on the touchscreen.
Startup Application
You can select an application that will be automatically
launched with the last used settings when the instru-
ment is started.
If you select None , you must first select an application
after each start of the instrument (see page 69).
Autostart to PC Live
You can use the software USM 100 PC from Waygate
Technologies to operate the USM 100 completely re-
motely from a computer (tablet) if both devices are on
the same network.
When the USM 100 is remotely controlled by the soft-
ware, operation directly on the instrument is locked.
Therefore, the remote control is usually switched on
manually.
With this function you can activate the automatic start of
the USM 100 Server for the connection to the software
USM 100 PC when starting the instrument. The prereq-
uisite for this is an established network connection when
starting the USM 100.
Screen Orientation
You can configure the instrument for right-handed
(
RIGHT ) or left-handed operation ( LEFT ), referred to
the probe. The screen display is then rotated through
180° and the keys can be operated easily with the other
hand.
