WARNING
The fuel line is under pressure.
Fuel poses danger of injury to eyes and skin.
Wear protective goggles and protective clothing to avoid injury
and contact with the skin. Wrap a cloth around the connection
before loosening hose connections. Then reduce pressure by
carefully opening the connection.
– Disconnect fuel supply line -1- ⇒ Rep. gr. 20 ; Plug-in con‐
nectors; Separating plug-in connectors .
– Seal lines so that fuel system is not contaminated by dirt.
– Remove upper part of intake manifold
– Remove lower part of intake manifold and separate electrical
connectors
.
– Remove heat shield together with intake manifold support
from cylinder head.
– Unscrew front exhaust pipes from exhaust manifolds.
– Remove high-pressure pump
.
– Withdraw pump plunger
– Detach following connectors.
1 - Hall sender - G40-
2 - Inlet camshaft control valve 1 - N205-
3 - Hall sender 2 - G163-
4 - Exhaust camshaft control valve 1 - N318-
– Pull off/disconnect all further wiring necessary from cylinder
head and move clear.
– Detach coolant hose from connector nozzle to heat exchanger
.
– Unscrew coolant hoses at top and bottom of cover from cylin‐
der head.
– Unscrew mounting bolts -1- to -3- on the coolant connection
nozzles.
– Remove cylinder head cover .
