Removing and installing poly-V belt
Special tools and workshop equipment required
♦ Pin - T10027-
Removing poly V-belt:
– Remove noise insulation ⇒ General body repairs, exterior;
Rep. gr. 66 ; Noise insulation; Assembly overview - noise in‐
sulation .
– Remove front right wheel housing liner ⇒ General body re‐
pairs, exterior; Rep. gr. 66 ; Wheel housing liner; Removing
and installing front wheel housing liner .
Caution
Danger of destruction due to reverse running direction in the
case of a poly V-belt that has already run.
♦ Before removing the poly V-belt, use a piece of chalk or a
felt pen to mark the running direction.
– Position spanner -1- onto tensioning roller securing bolt and
turn in -direction of arrow- until locking pin - T10027- can be
inserted on tensioning roller.
– Remove poly V-belt.
Installing poly V-belt:

Before installing the poly V-belt, ensure that all units (alterna‐
tor, air conditioner compressor) are securely bolted on.
♦
Check deflection rollers for ease of movement.
♦
The poly V-belt must not be kinked.
♦
When fitting poly V-belt, check direction of belt rotation and
make sure the belt is properly seated in the belt pulleys.
– Fit poly V-belt as illustrated.
– Use spanner -1- to push tension roller slightly in direction of
-arrow- in order to engage locking pin - T10027- in tensioning
roller.
