– Unscrew securing bolts for lower part of intake manifold/cyl‐
inder head -arrows-.
– Unscrew securing bolt from oil dipstick guide tube -1-.
– Remove bracket -2- from lower part of intake manifold.
– Unscrew bolt -3-.
– Undo bolts of fuel rail for cylinders 2, 4, and 6 -arrows-.
– Carefully pull fuel rail off injectors.
– Remove lower part of intake manifold.
Note
Block off intake ports in cylinder head with a clean cloth.
Installing:
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following.
– Before installing fuel rail, always renew injector O-ring, support
washer, spring element and combustion chamber seal
.
– Lightly moisten O-rings between injector and fuel rail with
clean engine oil.
– Fit lower part of intake manifold with a new gasket.
– Set fuel rail and evenly press onto injectors.
Caution
The injectors must not be pulled into their seat with the fuel rail
bolts. Otherwise the spring element will be damaged.
– Fit all intake manifold and fuel rail securing bolts by hand.
Note
♦
Tighten fuel rail securing bolts on cylinder head evenly from
inside to outside.
♦
Then tighten securing bolts for lower part of intake manifold/
cylinder head.
