7 Operating the controller
7.3.4 Menu C7: Setting the parameters for the
entire system
In Menu C7 is for setting the global parameters which
ensure optimum operation of the heating installation.

Max. pre-switch
off The pre-switch off prevents unnecessary heating of the installa-
tion immediately before a defined set-back point.
The controller calculates the actual period independently of the
outside temperature.
Set the maximum period desired by the owner here.
If the outside temperature is at -20 °C, no pre-switch off occurs.
If the outside temperature is +20 °C, the
maximum pre-switch
off is in effect.
At temperatures in the range -20 °C ... +20 °C, the controller com-
putes a value corresponding to a linear interpolation between
-20 °C and +20 °C.

Frost prot. delay The frost protection function ensures protection from frost in the
Off and Eco modes (outside the programmed time slots) globally
in the heating installation for all connected heating circuits.
If the outside temperature falls below 3 °C, the set-back tempera-
ture is applied as the target room temperature. The heating cir-
cuit pump is switched on.
If you set a delay time, the frost protection function is inhibited
for this period
(setting range 0 - 23 h).
If the measured room temperature is lower than the preset set-
back temperature, the frost protection is also activated (regard-
less of the measured outside temperature).
