5.4.1.7 Steering Oil Tank. The tank is separated from the pump. The tank has a filter 3
(Fig. 65). Oil returns to the tank through the filter 2. If the filter elements 2 get clogged, the latter
rises compressing the spring 7, and oil flows into the tank, avoiding the filter. The oil level in the
tank is measured by means of the indicator with the plug 4 unscrewed.
The oil level should be within the indicator marks.
5.4.1.8 Steering Rods. The length of the drop arms of the steering system and the steer-
ing linkage can be adjusted. The steering linkages and booster unit hinged joints have the collar
steps 9 and 10 (Fig. 66). The hinged joints are not adjustable during operational process. The
permissible cumulative clearance in new hinged joints in the direction perpendicular to the finger
axis is up to 0.3 mm.
